Loot Pillage & Piledrivers

11/03/2008

by: Gunnar Wuher

I'd like to start this off with an explanation of my name. 'Gunnar' is an Anglo-Saxton version of "Gunther" who was an important figure in the present day Germany during the Dark Ages. I have an affinity towards the Norse culture hence I thought it'd be a wise choice. Wuher is actually the name of the Bar Owner of the Mos Eisely Cantina in Star Wars acclaim. Since Gunnar(Who was only known as 'Da' Pimp' in the early days of PRW) was the proprietor of the fictional bar "Lucky's" I'd thought this be appropriate. Anyways, I'd like to thank Mr. Jimmy Olsen for being so prompt with his response and his participation. Without further ado, Part 2.

Profile: Jimmy "Jam" Olsen

Age: 22

Height: 5'7

Weight: 180

Finishing Move: Overbomb (alleyoop reverse powerbomb), piledriver, superkick

Recent Title Holdings: Former NWAU champion, 2008 Upstate 8 tournament winner

Weird fact about being on the road: You can find karaoke just about anytime, anywhere and I do a sweet rendition of "Copa Cabana"

Advice for Beginners: Research first and find a credible school from there - mouth shut, ears open and just take in everything.

GW: You said in the last part of our interview that NMW was your start. Now why wouldn't you want to give credit to them for starting you off in the business?

JJO: It was just a very poorly run place, with some highly questionable dudes. But it was the only option around at the time. If I were to really give anyone credit for Jimmy Olsen it would be Tony Mamaluke, who I was able to train with a bit awhile later. He was the first guy to really break everything down to me and make me "get it".

GW: Last Friday you were defeated by Slyck for the 2cw title. Now this is a bittersweet loss because you were obviously screwed by the interference of the 2cw loser whose name is slipping my mind at the moment. Although, in my opinion, its better to get that piece of tin off of you before it starts changing your skin funny colors. What was your thoughts before the match and how do you feel now?

JJO: Yes, maybe some questionable tactics... On both our ends honestly. Regardless of that - obviously I'm very disappointed with the outcome but this isn't over for either of us.

GW:You and Colin have teamed up at various points in the past 4 years. What was the biggest accomplishment for you two and how did you guys get paired up at first?

JJO: I think just building up the reputation and getting the following we had was a pretty great accomplishment in itself. The team was just one of those right time kinda deals and it worked.

GW: What are your goals now that NWA Upstate has secured a spot in the Upstate New York Wrestling scene, for at least now?

JJO: Winning the upstate 8 was a start in right direction and now its time to start making a run for some more upstate gold

GW: Any last words for Slyck? the 2cw people?

JJO: Last words would imply I'm done with either, but this isn't the case. I think I'll be seeing you all in December...

Gunnar's Thoughts:Once again, Jimmy is at odds with those folks at Squared Circle. I like it. A lot. The reclaimmed champion better watch his back come that cold December night. Strong words from Olsen. Once again, I thank him in his response. If this whole debacle with 2cw has proved anything, it's that Jimmy is ready for a healthy run with a big piece of gold. Watch yourself Doring.

Speaking of our loathed Champion, lets run down the 2 announced matches for the "Pilgrims and Piledrivers" card.

Danny Doring (c) vs Stevie Richards -

This is personally a match I've been waiting to see. I've watched Stevie since the days of ECW and he's an effective mouth piece. Danny has shown that his big belt can cover his big mouth long enough to put out a decent match. Big Stevie Cool is a hell of a worker and Mr. Doring is going to need a big hunk of ice from the Blue Cross Arena to get his swollen chin to come down after a Stevie Kick. Although a "Wham, Bam, Thank You Ma'am" could send Stevie to the often trodden "injury lane." I'm hoping to see an amazing match where if you just for a second close your eyes you think your in the Hammerstein 10 years ago. Gentlemen I wish you good luck. ...Kick him to hell Stevie.

John McChesney vs Ricky Reyes -

Grudge Match Possibly the only other match on the card that could really steal the show for me. Two fall a piece with a double DQ at the last show makes this white-hot feud one for the ages. The sheer energy of these two performers is something that I feel is lacking from most TV wrestling you see these days. McChesney is a local boy that's got himself pretty established here. This could be his big chance to get noticed farther up. "The Cuban Crippler" on the other hand was, if memory serves me correctly, in the tournament for the big NWA Championship. He did not come out victorious, but all the same it's an honor to be involved with the big belt that once was held by some of the greatest. Maybe we'll see the victor of this match with some big gold on his waist in the not-too-distant future. I just beg for a decision!
